iStock_000013214632_MediumIn order to lose weight and be healthy, you do not have to completely cut out all of your favorite foods; you just have to increase your workouts in order to compensate! Next time you’re in the mood for something not-so-healthy, don’t sweat it (till later)! Remember that it is okay and you can make up for it later at the gym…just make sure you actually do. Courtesy of AllRecipes.com, below is a recipe for the “World’s Best Lasagna,” along with all of the nutritional information and the workout it will take to burn off those pesky calories right off!

“World’s Best Lasagna”

Ingredients: 1 pound sweet Italian sausage, 3/4 pound lean ground beef, 1/2 cup minced onion, 2 cloves garlic (crushed), 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes, 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste, 1/2 cup water, 2 tablespoons white sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves, 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1 tablespoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, 4 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley, 12 lasagna noodles, 16 ounces ricotta cheese, 1 egg, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 3/4 pound mozzarella cheese (sliced), 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese.

Directions:

Over medium heat, brown sausage, ground beef, onion, and garlic. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water. Season with sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, 1 tablespoon salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons parsley. Cover, and simmer for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles per package instructions. Drain, rinse with cold water, and drain again. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, remainder of parsley, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. To assemble, spread 1 1/2 cups of meat sauce over the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Arrange 6 noodles, lengthwise, over meat sauce. Spread 1/2 of ricotta cheese mixture over noodles. Use 1/3 of mozzarella slices to cover the ricotta cheese mixture. Spoon 1 1/2 cups of meat sauce over the mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle 1/4 cup parmesan cheese over meat sauce. Repeat layers and top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Spray foil with cooking spray, cover lasagna. Bake for 25 minutes, remove foil and bake for additional 25 minutes. Let lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Workout:

After eating just one serving of this delicious, rich dish, your body will have taken in 448 calories. Don’t panic! Below is a specially designed workout that will burn each and every one of those unwanted calories right off, so it is not to set you back on all of your hard work!
