Find time to exercise on a busy day

June 26, 2013

If your excuse to not exercise on a regular basis is that there simply aren’t enough hours in the day, we’ve got news for you: There are plenty of ways to fit in a quick workout even on the busiest days! Just a half hour on your home treadmill can do wonders for your health, particularly if you use TRUE HRC Cruise Controlâ„¢ to make sure that you’re keeping your heart rate up. Try out these easy tactics for squeezing in a workout even when your schedule is packed.

Wake up early
You may not consider yourself to be a morning person, but waking up an hour early and running on a fitness treadmill will not only give you the chance to fit in your workout, but will also get you energized and ready to confront the day. When exercising is the first thing you do each morning, nothing can get in the way of your plan, like unexpected meetings or having to pick your kids up from school. You may even find that the endorphins help so much that you can cut back on caffeine too! How’s that for a healthy start to the day?

Bike to work
Have you ever thought about turning your daily commute into an opportunity to exercise? Whether you prefer to bike or run, ditching your car can help the environment and improve your health. If you don’t live close enough to your job to bike, consider taking the bus or some other mode of public transportation, getting off a few stops early and walking the rest of the way.

Take a walk during lunch
On a beautiful day, nothing’s better than going for a walk, particularly when you’re stuck in an office for hours on end. Instead of spending your lunch break sitting in a cafeteria or restaurant, pack a meal to go and walk to a local park with some coworkers for a mini-picnic outside. The exercise will do you good, and so will the fresh air.

Multitask
At the end of the day, sometimes all you want to do is veg out on and watch your favorite TV shows. Instead of being a couch potato, spend that half hour running on the treadmill or sweating it out on your home elliptical machine. When simultaneously exercising and watching television, the time you spend working out will fly by.
